Last updated: 13 July 2026. This policy explains how Glass Tailors Ltd collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you interact with us online, by phone, by email or in person.

1. Who we are

Glass Tailors Ltd (trading as Glass Tailors) is the data controller responsible for your personal data. We design, manufacture and install bespoke architectural glass — frameless showers, balustrades, splashbacks, mirrors, and doors and windows — across Greater London and the Home Counties.

We do not have a statutory obligation to appoint a Data Protection Officer. Privacy queries are handled by the address above.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to personal data we process about:

Visitors to https://glasstailors.co.uk and any Glass Tailors sub-domains.
People who request a quote, callback, brochure or site survey.
Customers and their household or site contacts during a project.
Trade clients, architects, developers and their representatives.
Suppliers, subcontractors and business contacts.
Recipients of our marketing emails and event invitations.

3. Personal data we collect

3.1 Information you give us

Identity & contact: name, email address, phone number, project or delivery address, company name (for trade clients).
Project data: dimensions, photographs, drawings, product choices, glass specifications and access notes you submit through our quote calculator, contact form, WhatsApp, email or during a survey.
Correspondence: the content of emails, calls, WhatsApp messages, callback requests and reviews you send us.
Payment information: we do not collect or store card details on this website. Bank transfer references are recorded in our accounting records.

3.2 Information we collect automatically

Device & usage: IP address (truncated where possible), browser type, device, referring URL, pages viewed, approximate location (city-level).
Cookies and similar technologies: analytics and advertising identifiers, session identifiers, consent state. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.
Consent Mode signals: cookieless, aggregated pings sent to Google before you give consent, as permitted by ICO guidance on Google Consent Mode v2.

3.3 Information from third parties

Advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn) report the ad campaign that referred you.
Review platforms display reviews you have chosen to publish about us.
Trade partners and architects may share your contact details when introducing a project.

5. Marketing communications

We send occasional marketing emails — for example, seasonal offers, new product ranges and case studies. We rely on your consent, or on the PECR "soft opt-in" where you have previously enquired about or bought similar services from us and did not opt out at the time.

Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also opt out at any time by emailing mail@glasstailors.co.uk. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about an active quote, order or installation.

6. Who we share personal data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the following categories of recipient, and only to the extent needed for the purposes above:

Our staff, installers and vetted subcontractors working on your project.
Hosting and database providers for this website and our internal job tracker.
Email delivery providers for quotations, order confirmations, follow-ups and marketing.
Quote-calculator provider (Smart Glazier) where you use the online designer.
Analytics and advertising platforms: Google (Analytics, Ads), Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft (Clarity) — subject to your cookie choices.
Embedded widgets: Elfsight (reviews, callback, enquiry, map, Instagram) and any similar widget disclosed on the page.
Payment processors and our bank for taking deposits and balances.
Accountants, auditors and professional advisers under duties of confidentiality.
Regulators, law enforcement and courts where we are legally required to disclose.
Prospective purchasers if we sell or reorganise our business, subject to appropriate confidentiality.

7. International transfers

Some of our processors (notably Google, Meta, LinkedIn and Microsoft) are based in, or transfer data to, countries outside the UK. Where this happens we rely on UK "adequacy regulations", the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses together with the UK Addendum, and we assess additional safeguards where required. You can request a copy of the relevant safeguards by contacting us.

8. Form-level consent for conversion tracking

When you submit our online quote calculator (showers and balustrades, powered by Smart Glazier), you agree under the calculator's Terms that we may send a single conversion event to Google Ads, Meta and LinkedIn so the enquiry can be attributed to the ad you clicked.

Only the event itself plus a hashed click identifier is sent — no remarketing audiences are built.
This applies even if you declined the "Targeting" cookie category, because consent is captured at the point of submission.
We store a local consent receipt (timestamp, calculator type, page URL) in your browser for up to 24 months as proof of compliance.
Retention at the ad networks: Google 13 months, Meta 90 days, LinkedIn 90 days.

To withdraw this consent, click the button below — it clears the local receipt and resets Google Consent Mode to "denied". To request deletion from Google, Meta or LinkedIn, email mail@glasstailors.co.uk and we will submit a user-data deletion request on your behalf.

9. Cookies and Google Consent Mode v2

We operate Google Consent Mode v2. All advertising and analytics signals default to denied on first load. Google's tags still load, but they send only cookieless, aggregated pings until you grant consent through the cookie banner — or until you submit the quote calculator (see s.8), in which case the upgrade is scoped to that single conversion event and reverts after three seconds.

11. How we protect your data

HTTPS/TLS across the site and all form submissions.
Role-based access controls in our backend, with row-level rules so staff only see the records they need.
Individual accounts, strong passwords and multi-factor authentication where available.
Vetted processors with UK GDPR-compliant contracts.
Regular backups and update patching of our systems.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever become aware of a personal-data breach affecting your rights and freedoms, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours where required and contact you without undue delay where the risk is high.

12. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

Be informed about how we use your data (this policy).
Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Have inaccurate data corrected.
Have your data erased where there is no continuing lawful basis to keep it.
Restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
Data portability for information you have given us and which we process by automated means.
Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing already carried out).
Not be subject to solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects — we do not carry out such decision-making.

To exercise any right, email mail@glasstailors.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month and may ask for reasonable proof of identity. There is no charge for the first request.

13. Complaints

We would prefer the chance to put things right first, so please contact us if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time:

14. Children

Our services are directed at homeowners, developers and trade clients. We do not knowingly collect personal data about children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

15. Third-party sites

This site links to third-party sites (for example, review platforms, social media and our payment provider). We are not responsible for their privacy practices — please read their own privacy notices.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the law or in how we operate. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was most recently revised. Material changes will be highlighted on this page and, where appropriate, notified by email.
